Time to Pass the New START Treaty in December 2010

According to former Republican arms control negotiator Richard Burt, Republicans may be stalling on passage of the New START because they have never passed an arms control treaty under a Democratic Congress and/or a Democratic President. It has nothing to do with the merits of the Treaty and it’s all about partisan politics. Burt and 5 former Republican Secretaries of State urge passage of the New START Treaty for the sake of improved national security. Continue reading
